It was wonderful to work with Patricia on the design of our refurbished Victorian house. From the minute we first met, Patricia was incredibly engaged and perfectly understood the challenges of our project. Her vision, eye for detail and colour matching skills were all fantastic. She listened carefully to our account of the look and feel we were trying to achieve and stuck closely to that throughout, making lots of creative suggestions along the way, many of which would not have occurred to us previously. This was all communicated in a visual and systematic way, which was very easy to follow.

Patricia’s knowledge of various furnishing and decorative products was encyclopaedic, and she went out of her way to simplify the decision-making process for us, including coordinating the ordering of samples and engaging with other suppliers on our behalf.

Her input transformed what had first seemed like an overwhelming and daunting phase of the project into a thoroughly enjoyable and straightforward process. The execution was perfect, and we are absolutely delighted with the end result. We would not hesitate to call on Patricia again!

I remember thinking “why do I need someone to help me furnish my place? I know what I like, I’ve got the internet and, sure, isn’t finding things is fun?
“. But there’s a huge difference between ‘being able to find some stuff’ and ‘having your finger on the pulse’.

Without Maven’s help, there’s no way I’d have been able to find pretty much all of the most beloved pieces in my home. There’s no way I’d have a s strong an understanding of, and connection to, the makers and craftspeople behind those pieces as I do now. And there’s no way I’d have been able to get them all sorted, delivered and in place so smoothly.

Rather than outsourcing the fun, working with Patricia enhanced it and I can’t recommend Maven highly enough. In fact, my only regret is that I wasn’t able to take everything that she suggested (damn budgets!). Still, I guess there’s always next year, and the year after that, and the year after that….

Maven had always been on my radar and I had often popped into their smaller shop where they first began their business. I loved everything about the shop all it’s unique candles and lamps and cool furniture that you would generally see in London stores or online but never here in Belfast. When Patricia and her sister Catherine moved into the former Bank of Ireland building on the Lisburn Road I was able to see all the beautiful furniture and lighting set out perfectly. I have always really loved modern design and the clean lines and simplicity of Mavens furniture and lighting really appealed to me. We had been in our house for over twenty years and had gathered up so much furniture where everything seemed to clash or just looked too big for the rooms. My youngest son had just moved away to university in Edinburgh leaving me the time and space to take a good look at our home , we have lovely high Victorian ceilings and all the features that lends itself to the beautiful furniture that the team at Maven is able to source.

Patricia offered a design service which I took full advantage of she visited the house and came up with a very comprehensive cost effective plan for each room that would flow and create a sense of calm. The project began in January and by the spring the decorators were finished. Patricia was able to advise on paint colours so we stripped away all the dated wallpaper and curtains and created a much simpler more contemporary look we are so happy with the furniture and lighting and we were able to finish the rooms with mirrors, lamps, rugs and cushions all from the shop. What I really loved was the fact you could get everything here in one place that completes the overall look and it flows beautifully. We are so happy with the finished results, everything went so smoothly and now all the work is completed it truly feels like we have got our home how we really want it. I highly recommend Patricia and all the team they were fabulous to work with.
