&Tradition
A rendition of the original form, &Tradition introduces a new facet to the Moor rug series with the addition of tactile cotton fringing – reestablishing the foundation behind the collection in a profoundly tangible way.
Crafted from a blend of New Zealand wool, the Moor collection is a line of soft and textural rugs created with the desire to gather people together. Each rug is hand- woven by artisans in Bikaneer, India, producing a dense, soft and opulent velvet-like expression.
Presented in an off-white tone, the 100% cotton fringe is an existing element of the original Moor rug. After the rug is completed by hand on a loom, the warp yarns are cut to leave an excess and then secured in small knots, creating a more informal style fringe. An intuitive addition, the extension is a sensory and tactile element which invites curiosity and connection.
The new fringe addition comes in all five colourways of the original Moor series– Golden Brown, Red Heather, Green Pine, Beige Dew, Blue-Grey Thunder–and in both sizes, 170cm x 240cm and 200cm x 300cm.
Inspired by the vast, heather-covered hills in the countryside of their native Scandinavia, The Moor rugs by All the Way to Paris capture the ambiance of the landscape. “This collection of rugs focuses on texture, shape and depth of colour – not patterns,” explains founders and partners Tanja Vibe and Petra Olsson Gendt. “Our intention with the rugs is to gather a room together both emotionally and aesthetically. To create a feeling of closeness and to somehow ‘ground’ the room.”
